Thinking about Gratitude

I've been thinking about Gratitude for the past week, and then with the news of Sam's passing, it has prompted me even more.

Thinking about Gratitude has been a way to shift my thinking and come back to the present. I've been attending Al-Anon meetings over the past month. Many people are grateful for the meetings and for 'the program', among other things. I hear the word alot. And the truth is, that it is really grounding. And relieving.

So, I thought tonight I'd start the beginnings of an Alex Gratitude list. Tonight, I am thankful for:

The Nature that surrounds me every day
To be alive
That I am healthy (relatively :-)
That I feel joy
My wonderful wonderful friends
My beautiful dog, Lucy
My Family, who I know loves me very much
Opportunities
Adventures
The last year I had with my father

Want to join me in a list for the day?

  1. Al, I didn't write yesterday because I am having trouble with coming up with things for my list...but for you, I will try:
A place to lay my head
    Wonderful memories
    My Health
    Good Friends
    and
    the Possibilities of the Future

  2. I think that's a great list, Bean! There are no rules, remember. Even if you wrote one thing, that's enough! I like 'Wonderful Memories'.
