It just so happens that they had the California Mille Car Show outside the Fairmont today, pretty cool!
The unbelievable inside at the Fairmont, just breathtaking. It was so fun to stay there for a night! We read the history of the Fairmont and walked through the entire hotel checking things out. This picture below is of the 1906 earthquake, and the Fairmont is STILL STANDING. Amazing.
Of course we just had to do the wharf cartoonist! I haven't done that since I was 10 when my family took a trip to San Francisco for the first time. I still remember that poster vividly. I wish i knew where it was now.. that would be so funny. But, overall, this was a good weekend to get away in the midst of my own home town. Get aways are so important, no? And I love that we were literlly 10 miles from home and it felt like a world away. LOVED THAT!
I'm so glad you were able to have a getaway! And I hope John had a good bday! Sounds a lot like what I did when visiting...being a tourist in your hometown, looking with new eyes is a fun thing!
